Samsung has officially announced the China release schedule for the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G. The new mid-range phone is set to go on sale at 12:00 a.m. on April 11, with pricing starting at 3,299 yuan. Samsung is positioning the device as a slimmer, more premium update that still keeps the core formula of the previous generation intact.

The launch pricing breaks down into two versions. The 8GB + 256GB model is priced at 3,299 yuan, with a subsidized price of 2,804.15 yuan and an extra 100 yuan student discount. The 12GB + 256GB version comes in at 3,699 yuan, drops to 3,199 yuan with the subsidy, and also qualifies for the same student offer.

One of the biggest physical changes is the design. Samsung says the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G is just 6.9mm thick and weighs 179 grams. Even with the thinner body, the phone still keeps a Gorilla Glass Victus+ exterior and a metal frame. Buyers in China will get four color options: Ocean Blue, Mist Gray, Cool River Blue, and Ice Taro Purple.

Durability is getting an upgrade too. Samsung has moved from the Galaxy A56’s IP67 rating to IP68 on the new model, while also trimming down the display bezels to give the phone a more refined look. Internally, though, this is more of a focused refresh than a full hardware overhaul. The cooling chamber is larger, and the chipset moves from the Exynos 1580 to the newer Exynos 1680, which should deliver faster overall performance and a modest improvement in image processing.

The phone uses a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with slim bezels, and Samsung is promising six Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates. That long software support window continues to be one of the stronger selling points in this segment.

Camera hardware includes a 50MP wide main camera with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. On the front, Samsung includes a 12MP selfie camera with Super HDR support. The company also says night photography has been improved thanks to an upgraded image signal processor that can process images faster, cut noise more effectively, and preserve more detail in low-light shots. Samsung adds that the main sensor uses 1.0μm pixels to capture more ambient light.

Battery capacity lands at 5000mAh battery, which remains in line with what buyers expect from a mainstream Samsung phone, and the overall package looks aimed at shoppers who want a thin body, better water resistance, long-term software support, and a familiar camera setup without jumping into flagship pricing.
