A new leak claims the Huawei Enjoy 90 Pro Max could arrive with one of the biggest batteries yet in a phone using a Kirin 8 series chip. Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station says the device is being prepared with a rated battery capacity of 8,320mAh and a typical capacity of 8,500mAh battery.
If that figure holds up, it would be a pretty notable step for Huawei’s more affordable phone lineup. The leak also suggests Huawei is catching up quickly in large-battery tech, with the tipster hinting that future mid-range models could even push toward 9,000mAh or higher.
The discussion around the post added a little more context. When someone asked whether a stronger chip could make the phone competitive with Honor’s popular X-series devices, the tipster replied that those models sell in the millions, so Huawei still has a lot to prove in volume terms.
Another reply touched on screen size. A commenter asked why Huawei wasn’t going with a 7-inch display, and the answer was that a near-7-inch panel is apparently coming later, with a 6.96-inch screen size mentioned in the exchange.
Earlier reports from IT Home say the broader Enjoy 90 lineup is expected to launch on March 23. The standard Huawei Enjoy 90 model has been linked to a 6.7-inch 90Hz LCD screen, a roughly 6,620mAh battery, and a Kirin 800 or 800A chip, while the Huawei Enjoy 90 Pro Max is expected to use HarmonyOS and a centered punch-hole display with narrower bezels.
Nothing is official yet, so the final name and specifications could still change. Still, if Huawei really ships a phone in this segment with an 8,500mAh battery, it could stand out fast among users who care more about endurance than flagship-level camera hardware.
