REDMI Note 15 SE is headed to India on April 2 with a familiar core spec sheet and a lower-cost twist

Xiaomi has confirmed that the REDMI Note 15 SE will launch in India on April 2, with sales set to run through Flipkart. Based on the details highlighted by IT Home, the new model looks like a more price-conscious take on the standard Note 15 rather than a totally different device.

Reporting tied to SmartPrix says the phone should stay close to the regular model in its core hardware. That likely means buyers will still get a 6.77-inch 120Hz display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, which keeps the overall experience in familiar territory for the series.

Where the SE version may change things is in the cost-cutting. The report says Xiaomi is expected to give the phone an exclusive color option and reduce the final price partly by trimming what comes in the box, including the possibility of shipping it without a charger.

The standard Note 15 is said to carry a 100MP main camera, a 5520mAh battery, and 45W wired charging. For the REDMI Note 15 SE, the screen and processor are expected to remain in place, while the camera setup could be dialed back a bit. Battery capacity is still expected to land in roughly the same range.

Pricing is another big part of the story. IT Home says the phone is expected to come in at 16,000 to 18,000 Indian rupees, which would position it as a more accessible budget Android phone for buyers who want a modern high-refresh display and current midrange silicon without paying for every extra feature.

Nothing is official beyond the launch date just yet, but the early picture is pretty clear: Xiaomi seems to be using the India smartphone launch of the REDMI Note 15 SE to push the Note line a little further downmarket without giving up its most recognizable basics.
