Tecno Spark 50 5G debuts with a 6,500mAh battery and Dimensity 6400 chip

Tecno has introduced the Tecno Spark 50 5G in India as a new budget phone built around battery life and everyday value. The device pairs a large battery with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 platform, aiming squarely at buyers who want long runtime without stepping into a higher price tier.

Up front, the phone uses a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness rated at 560 nits. Tecno is offering the handset with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x memory and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, though the report says there’s no microSD card support.

Camera hardware is fairly straightforward. The rear setup centers on a 50MP main camera with an LED flash, while the front uses a 8MP selfie camera. Even so, Tecno gave the back a wide horizontal camera-bar look, which makes the design stand out a bit more than the usual entry-level phone layout.

Battery capacity is one of the headline features here. Tecno equipped the phone with a 6,500mAh battery and 45W wired charging, which should make the Spark 50 5G especially appealing to users who care more about endurance than thinness. Other listed features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and IP64 dust and water resistance.

The handset ships with HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and comes in Dreamy Purple, Ink Black, Mint Green, and Champagne Gold. Pricing in India starts at 16,999 rupees for the 4GB + 128GB version and rises to 18,999 rupees for the 6GB + 128GB model, putting it firmly in the affordable 5G segment.
