vivo OriginOS 6 adds real-time Amap driving navigation support in Atomic Notifications

vivo has officially announced a new convenience feature for vivo OriginOS 6. The company says its Atomic Notifications system now supports real-time Amap navigation updates during driving, letting turn-by-turn information appear directly in the system’s lightweight status surface instead of forcing users to keep jumping back into the full map app.

According to vivo, the feature is already being rolled out gradually through recent system builds. The company also notes that availability may vary depending on the phone model and software version, so not every device will receive the exact same behavior at the same time.

For context, Atomic Notifications, also called Atomic Island on some vivo and iQOO phones, serve as a system-wide window for live information, service suggestions, and status changes. vivo uses it to surface ongoing events without interrupting what the user is doing, which makes it a natural fit for navigation prompts and other time-sensitive updates.

The updated support list shows that navigation is only one part of a broader live-information system. For cycling and walking directions, the platform currently works with Amap and Baidu Maps. Ride-hailing updates are supported through Amap, Baidu Maps, DiDi, and the Alipay mini program for Amap Taxi. Travel-related cards can also display flight information from Umetrip and train details from China Railway Jixun.

vivo says the same notification surface can also handle a wide range of everyday services, including food delivery updates from Ele.me, medical registration reminders, phone-to-phone transfer progress, SMS verification codes, weather alerts, voice recording status, medication reminders, workout logs, health-device usage prompts, file transfers, app downloads, Bluetooth transfers, print services, focus mode, restore and backup activity, background calls, timers, stopwatches, and walkie-talkie services.

Beyond that, the feature list extends into contextual suggestions and quick actions. vivo says users can receive address recommendations, stock information from East Money, command-code recognition for Douyin and Alipay, browser URL handling, phone-number actions such as dialing or saving contacts, calendar event creation, and direct sharing shortcuts across apps including WeChat, QQ, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Taobao, JD.com, Tmall, smart image recognition, email, BlueLM-based assistant functions, memory collection, and saving to the gallery.

Back on February 27, vivo opened the latest public beta recruitment for vivo OriginOS 6, covering models such as the vivo X Fold+ and iQOO 10. This newest Amap navigation integration gives a clearer idea of how vivo is expanding the platform: not just with visual polish, but with more practical live-service hooks built into the system layer.
