vivo X300 Ultra and X300s to debut new Blueprint Native Color imaging tech

vivo product manager Han Boxiao says the upcoming vivo X300 Ultra and vivo X300s will be the first phones to launch with Blueprint Native Color, a new imaging approach that vivo describes as the result of years of work on color science and camera aesthetics. The company says the goal is to give photos a more professional camera feel while also making the overall look softer, more comfortable, and more luminous.

According to Han, part of that effort comes from vivo’s new Smooth EV dynamic compression algorithm. He says the company took inspiration from the film-like tonal style favored by well-known filmmakers, then built a new dynamic computing framework that can intelligently reorganize multi-frame HDR data. In practice, vivo claims this helps preserve fine detail while making highlight transitions look more natural and less harsh.

vivo is also trying to solve what it describes as a long-running industry issue around bright-color coupling. To do that, the company has introduced its own Blueprint color appearance model. The claim is that tonal shifts can now stay closer to what the human eye actually sees. vivo also says the new system can preserve skin texture more convincingly, give facial highlights a more natural sense of depth, and retain the real-world light-and-shadow layering that people notice in person.

Han had already said the vivo X300 Ultra is being positioned to give professional creators a much more cinema-like video workflow. He highlighted three headline capabilities: what vivo calls the strongest full-focal-length 4K 120fps 10-bit Log capture in the industry, a top-tier professional video mode, and more room for post-production work after shooting. Those features suggest vivo is aiming the Ultra squarely at users who care as much about video flexibility as they do about still photography.

The vivo X300s is also getting a meaningful camera push. Han says it will share several imaging features with the X300 Ultra and can pair with the optional Lipstick 200 teleconverter lens. That accessory is said to support a 200mm portrait view that vivo sees as useful for travel photos, candid portraits, and other real-world shooting scenarios. vivo also says the new teleconverter is 27% lighter than the previous generation at 153 grams, making it easier to carry around.

Based on earlier IT Home coverage, vivo is expected to announce the vivo X300 Ultra, vivo X300s, and the vivo Pad6 Pro on March 30, with retail sales reportedly starting on April 3. The leak also outlined the current memory and color combinations expected for the new hardware:

  • vivo X300 Ultra: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB (satellite communication version); colors: green, black, and silver.
  • vivo X300s: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB; colors: green, purple, white, and black.
  • Related new-device listing: 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB; colors: blue, purple, and gray.

Nothing here is official launch-day spec confirmation yet, but the picture coming into focus is pretty clear: vivo wants this release cycle to be defined by camera tuning, creator-friendly video tools, and a stronger premium imaging identity across both the Ultra and the more mainstream X300s.
