vivo has officially introduced the vivo Y6 5G, adding another large-battery budget phone to its lineup. The new model is positioned around long battery life and basic durability, while still offering a high-refresh-rate display and 5G support at a starting price of 1,799 yuan for the 8GB + 128GB version.

The phone comes in Silver, Gold, and Black color options and uses an integrated middle-frame design. Up front, it features a 6.75-inch 120Hz LCD with a 1570 × 720 resolution, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 83% NTSC color gamut coverage, and peak brightness rated at 1200 nits. That means the panel is clearly aimed at smooth everyday use rather than flagship-level sharpness.

Inside, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and pairs it with UFS 3.1 storage. vivo also says the phone supports memory fusion and related system-level optimization features. For photography, the rear setup includes a 50MP main camera, while the front-facing camera is an 8MP unit. The camera system also supports a dedicated night mode.
Battery life is the big story here. vivo says the phone packs a 7200mAh battery, which is unusually large for this category. The device is also rated for IP69 and IP68 water resistance, with the company specifically highlighting high-level sealing protection.
On the software side, the phone ships with OriginOS 6 out of the box. vivo claims the device is built to stay smooth for up to 50 months. The handset weighs 219g and measures 8.39mm thick, which helps explain how it manages to fit such a large battery.
Overall, the vivo Y6 5G looks like a practical release for buyers who care more about battery life, basic toughness, and day-to-day reliability than top-tier performance. Between the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the 120Hz LCD, and the 7200mAh battery, vivo is clearly trying to make this phone feel bigger on endurance than on headline specs.
