A new leak claims a Xiaomi-linked Redmi Turbo development line is testing a next-generation high-silicon battery with capacity reaching roughly 12000mAh battery levels, which would be unusually large for a phone-class device.
The report comes from a post by Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, who said a sub-brand refresh model is currently being tested with a single-cell high-silicon battery rated at about 12000mAh, while even larger capacities are reportedly being explored in the lab with a newly customized materials system.

The source article says the unnamed device is widely expected to belong to Xiaomi’s Redmi Turbo family based on the wording of the leak and follow-up discussion in the comment section. In one exchange, the tipster suggested the target device is tied to a high-performance processor, which adds to the speculation around a Redmi Turbo-branded model rather than a more basic handset.
For context, the report points back to the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which launched in January with a Dimensity 9500s chip, a 9000mAh battery, and a 6.83-inch 1.5K display. That older reference point matters because it shows Xiaomi has already been pushing battery capacity higher in this product lane.
Nothing here is official yet, and the final product could still change before launch. Even so, if Xiaomi really manages to ship a phone around this battery size, it would mark a notable step in the wider push to combine longer endurance with new battery chemistry instead of just making phones physically bigger.
