Motorola has officially introduced the Moto G87, and the phone is being positioned around what the company says is the strongest main camera setup ever used in its G-series lineup.
The headline feature is a 200MP camera sensor with optical image stabilization. Motorola also says the main camera supports 2x lossless zoom. Alongside it, the phone includes an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP front-facing selfie camera.

Inside, the Moto G87 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 chip and can be configured with up to 12GB of memory. On the front, it uses a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness rated at 5,000 nits. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
Durability is another major part of the pitch. Motorola says the handset carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H certification. The company also says the phone can survive drops from heights of up to 1.2 meters.
Motorola is also highlighting multimedia improvements. The phone comes with dual speakers, and the brand claims speaker output performance has improved by as much as 280% compared with the previous generation.

Battery capacity comes in at 5,200mAh, and the device supports 30W wired fast charging. It ships with Android 16 preinstalled. Motorola says the Moto G87 will go on sale in the coming weeks across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, though pricing still hasn’t been announced. In some markets, the same phone may reportedly be sold under the Moto G Max name.
