OPPO Says a Late May OTA Update Will Fix the Find X9 Ultra Video Tint Bug Turning White Areas Pink

OPPO Find X9 Ultra users have been discussing a strange camera problem after some owners noticed that white objects could turn pink while recording video. The issue drew wider attention after multiple examples circulated online, with users showing clouds, buildings, floor tiles, and even white clothing taking on an obvious pink cast in certain shooting conditions.

According to OPPO customer service, the problem is a known software defect and only affects the OPPO Find X9 Ultra. The company says engineers have already resolved the issue internally and plan to push an OTA update later this month to correct it.

One of the best known user reports came from someone who was filming dramatic cloud scenes during a road trip over the May Day holiday. Instead of recording white clouds accurately, the phone rendered them pink in the video. Another user demonstrated a similar issue with a white building: the preview initially looked normal, but once the camera zoomed to 2x, the white surface shifted to pink almost instantly.

Reports suggest the tint problem is especially noticeable when large white areas appear in the frame. In at least one example, switching to the telephoto camera brought the colors back to normal, while switching back to the shorter focal length lens caused the pink tint to return. Restarting the phone reportedly did not solve the issue.

For now, OPPO’s message is fairly straightforward: this is a software side camera bug rather than a hardware fault, a fix is already in the works, and the patch should arrive in late May. That means affected users likely won’t need to wait long before testing whether the update fully restores accurate color in everyday video capture.
