OPPO has officially scheduled its May 25 launch event for the new OPPO Reno16 series, with the presentation set to begin at 6:00 p.m. local time. The announcement confirms when the lineup will be unveiled, while much of the hardware detail still comes from prior leaks and supply-chain chatter.

According to earlier information shared by Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, what is believed to be the Reno16 Pro could arrive in white, black, purple, and green finishes. The engineering prototype is said to use a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display with very slim bezels, along with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ platform, which the report notes may correspond to a later commercial naming update.

The same leak points to a fairly broad memory and storage lineup, including 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB options. On the hardware side, the Reno16 Pro is also rumored to combine a 7000mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Camera expectations are similarly ambitious. The report says the Pro model may use a 200MP camera as its main sensor, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto unit, while also retaining a metal frame. If that setup holds, OPPO would be pushing the Reno line noticeably closer to premium flagship territory than usual.
The standard OPPO Reno16, meanwhile, is expected to feature a smaller 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED flat display, a Dimensity 8550 chip, a 6700mAh battery, and 80W wired charging. It is also rumored to carry the same basic 200MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP periscope combination, again paired with a metal frame. We’ll know how much of this survives into the shipping product once the official launch event begins on May 25.
