Android phone makers may be getting ready to split their launch calendars the same way Apple reportedly plans to do it, with Pro phones arriving first and standard models following months later.

According to a new tip shared by Digital Chat Station, Apple could release the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and its first wide-format foldable in September 2026, then move the regular iPhone 18 to the first half of 2027. The idea behind that schedule is said to be easing pressure on memory supply and 2nm chip capacity.

The same source now claims the Android side may borrow that playbook. In other words, future flagships could be introduced in stages instead of bringing every version to market at the same time.

IT Home also noted that leakers Sonny Dickson and Majin Bu shared photos and video mockups on X last month showing the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a foldable iPhone model. In those materials, the Pro versions looked broadly similar to the previous generation, while the foldable model appeared with a redesigned raised camera module that matched earlier leaks.

One notable detail is that the base iPhone 18 did not appear in that leak at all. Multiple reports have already suggested Apple may push both the standard model and an iPhone 18e variant into 2027 rather than launching them alongside the premium devices.

Separate earlier reports also said Apple could take a more aggressive pricing approach with the iPhone 18 Pro series. If that happens, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max might keep starting prices around $1,099 and $1,199. For now, none of this is official, but if the rumor proves accurate, launch timing itself could become a bigger product strategy tool across both Apple and Android brands.
