A new leak from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station points to a very ambitious battery target for what is believed to be the upcoming iQOO 16. In a post shared on Weibo, the blogger described a top-tier performance flagship based on the Snapdragon SM8975 platform and said its early engineering sample is being tested with an 8500mAh battery.
Just as notable, the same leak says the phone is not expected to include a built-in fan. Instead, the device is said to rely on a more traditional sealed-body approach while still aiming for high-end performance. The display is described as a 2K large flat panel using a newly customized base material along with a very high refresh rate.
Some extra details surfaced in the comment section under the original post. When asked whether Redmi still had a new model planned around a 2nm 8 Elite-class platform, the tipster replied that there was nothing to report for now. In another reply, when someone asked about the speaker setup, the answer was that the device would use a “master-level symmetrical solution,” with the surrounding hardware package still being kept quite full.

Based on the hints in the post and the reactions in the comments, IT Home says the phone can reasonably be inferred to be the iQOO 16. That part has not been officially confirmed, but the direction of the rumor has been widely interpreted that way.
For context, IT Home notes that the previous-generation iQOO 15 launched last October with Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition chip and a 2K Samsung Everest display using M14 luminous material. That model came in four finishes and started at 4,199 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB version.
At this stage, the rumored 2K flat display, the oversized battery, and the no-fan approach are still all based on an early leak rather than an official product announcement. Even so, if the engineering target is real, iQOO could be preparing one of the more battery-focused flagship phones in its class.
