A new Xiaomi handset has reportedly picked up network access approval in China, and a fresh report says it is likely to launch as the REDMI Note 17R. The device carries model number 26021RN18C and was recently listed in the country’s telecom equipment access database.
According to the same report, the phone has already passed both CCC certification and SRRC radio approval. Those filings do not confirm a retail name on their own, but XpertPick now believes this model is the upcoming REDMI Note 17R.
If that identification is correct, the handset could arrive as early as June. It is also expected to be one of the first smartphones built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, which would make it an important entry-level launch for Xiaomi’s next wave of budget 5G devices.
The leaked hardware profile points to a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone is also said to use a high-refresh-rate LCD panel and a battery larger than 7000mAh, a combination that would clearly emphasize long battery life over thinness.

The report adds that the overseas version may be renamed the REDMI 17 5G. Pricing outside China could also move up, with the international variant reportedly reaching 20,000 Indian rupees, which IT Home notes works out to about 1,420 yuan at current exchange rates.
For now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the retail branding or launch date. Still, with network access approval, CCC certification, and SRRC clearance already in place, the release window for this rumored REDMI Note 17R may not be far off.
