Bigme has confirmed that its next dual-screen phone is already in development, and the company says the upcoming E Ink smartphone will use MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300 processor.
The update came from Bigme’s official Weibo account, where the company said the new model is being developed as a true next-generation dual-screen device. It also claimed the chip can deliver an AnTuTu score above 1.6 million, which suggests the phone is being positioned as a much stronger performer than earlier niche E Ink efforts.

When users asked when the device would actually launch, Bigme said there still isn’t an exact release window yet. That makes sense, since the company only introduced a color-and-monochrome E Ink plus LCD phone back in April, with a starting preorder price of $359 and a Dimensity 1080 chip.
That earlier product didn’t fully satisfy everyone. Its LCD display was really just a small circular secondary screen on the back rather than a full main display, and some users felt the design fell short of what they expected from a practical dual-screen phone.
Bigme had already hinted at a broader rethink after that launch. In a public statement released in April, the company said it had reflected seriously on the reaction to the HiBreak Dual main-and-secondary-screen phone and revealed that an E Ink smartphone paired with a true LCD display had officially entered its development roadmap.
So while the new model still appears to be some distance from release, the latest update gives a clearer picture of Bigme’s direction: a more capable dual-screen design, a major performance jump through the Dimensity 8300, and a response to feedback from users who wanted something more practical than a decorative rear display.
