During its latest launch event in China, vivo officially unveiled the vivo S60 series, bringing premium design, massive battery capacities, and advanced camera tricks to the mid-range market. The standard vivo S60 starts at 3,599 yuan (approximately $495 USD), while the more affordable vivo S60 Lite (Yungi Edition) is priced from 2,899 yuan (around $400 USD). Sponsored by popular actress Tian Xiwei, the devices boast a slim 7.92mm profile and a lightweight 199g chassis, available in “Summer Green,” “Midsummer Night,” and a standout new “Sea of Stars” colorway.

The signature “Sea of Stars” finish utilizes an innovative starburst photolithography process. By layering intricate patterns on a thin film via dual-layer coating, high-precision photolithography, and three-sided pyramidal etching, vivo has created a stunning diamond-sand texture. The back of the phone features a single piece of fluid-light cold-carved glass that seamlessly integrates the camera module into the body. Together with a premium metal middle frame, the series offers an exceptionally polished in-hand feel.

On the front, the vivo S60 series is equipped with a 6.59-inch 1260p 144Hz flat OLED display paired with a high-resolution 50MP selfie camera. Around the back, the standard S60 sports a 50MP large-sensor main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 3x periscope telephoto sensor. The Lite version opts for a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide. A major highlight is the system’s ability to shoot 4K Live Photos, utilizing the phone’s robust video processing pipeline to deliver incredibly sharp, smooth, and stable motion snaps.

To enhance the social media experience, vivo has packed the S60 with new shooting modes. The “Cool White Portrait Live” style creates a crisp, atmospheric color tone for bright, clean portraits. A visual “Live Palette” lets users drag sliders to adjust color temperature, tint, and saturation with real-time previews, offering 6 distinct styles and 5 parameters. The industry-first “4K Starlight Live” automatically detects highlights to add a dreamlike starburst sparkle to light sources. Users can also utilize the “Inspiration Sticker Live” to rearrange and collage different motion frames, or convert standard Live photos into eye-popping 3D spatial images. Thanks to a deep partnership with Xiaohongshu (RED), the S60 is currently the only phone on the market that supports direct publishing of 3D spatial images to the platform.

Under the hood, the standard vivo S60 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, while the Lite model features MediaTek’s new Dimensity 7500 chipset. Both variants come standard with a premium 3D ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader and pack a massive 7200mAh Blue Ocean Battery that supports 90W fast charging. Despite the gargantuan capacity, the silicon-carbon anode battery remains remarkably thin. Other flagship-grade features include IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, dual stereo speakers, an infrared blaster, and an X-axis linear vibration motor. On the software side, the OriginOS-powered devices introduce customizable idol widgets and dedicated celebrity themes.
