Prominent tech blogger @DigitalChatStation recently shared a post hinting at details received from “a friend” about OPPO’s upcoming operating system. According to this source, ColorOS 17 will heavily incorporate a more refined fluid glass UI style across its interface.

The update will introduce much more harmonious rounded corners, advanced light-field rendering, and real-time lighting effects across various interactive areas, including notification pop-ups, the Smart Island (OPPO’s dynamic capsule), and the music playback interface. These additions are set to double down on a polished, modern Apple-like aesthetic.

This leak aligns perfectly with previous reports indicating that OPPO plans to launch a new smartphone featuring an elegant four-curved screen design, inspired by the style of Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone edition. This new premium handset is expected to make its debut in the second half of this year, launching alongside the new operating system update.

As a point of reference, OPPO officially introduced ColorOS 16 in October 2025 during the ODC conference. That system brought a new “light-field design” philosophy, integrating luminous edges, gradient blur, and glowing halo effects into lock screens and desktop icons. With the upcoming release, the brand is expected to further optimize system visuals to achieve a seamless fusion of premium hardware and fluid software design on its new quad-curved flagship.
