A fresh leak out of China says a phone maker is working on a new Android gaming handheld, and based on the source’s previous track record, the device is widely expected to be tied to OnePlus.

The tip came from Digital Chat Station, who said the hardware is not following the usual full-button-and-joystick template used by many portable gaming systems. Instead, the interaction model is said to lean more toward an FPS-focused setup.

That detail is interesting because it suggests the device may borrow ideas directly from competitive mobile games rather than trying to imitate a traditional console. According to the leak, the concept includes things like highly responsive multi-touch input, flagship-level performance tuning, and a very high refresh rate.

The source specifically mentioned games such as Delta Force and Peacekeeper Elite, implying that the product could be designed around the habits of players who already spend most of their time on fast-paced touchscreen shooters.

IT Home also noted that the same leaker had previously said rising memory prices are pushing phone brands to look for growth in adjacent hardware categories. In that earlier claim, three of the top five manufacturers were said to be exploring Pocket-style imaging products, while at least one sub-brand was planning a handheld gaming product built around a clearer gaming identity.

If this new leak is accurate, the rumored Android gaming handheld could end up being less of a traditional console rival and more of a dedicated performance device shaped by the strengths of modern phones. For now, though, there are still no official specs, launch timing, or product images beyond the early report.
