Xiaomi 17T series clears Singapore IMDA, with Dimensity 8500 and 9500 chips rumored

The Xiaomi 17T series has now appeared in Singapore’s IMDA certification database, a sign that Xiaomi is moving the lineup closer to an international release. According to a report cited by IT Home from Notebookcheck, the two new models are listed under the identifiers 2602DPT53G and 2602EPTC0G.

The certification itself doesn’t spell out the full hardware package, but it does suggest the company is laying the groundwork for a broader launch outside China. That matters because the T-series usually arrives as Xiaomi’s more performance-focused global smartphone line, so regulatory movement like this tends to be one of the clearer early markers that a release is getting closer.

Based on the same report, Xiaomi is expected to put a bigger emphasis on performance and battery life this time around. The standard Xiaomi 17T is rumored to use MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro could move up to the Dimensity 9500. If that chip pairing is accurate, the Pro model would represent a noticeable step up from the Dimensity 9400+ used in the previous-generation 15T Pro.

There are also early battery claims attached to the base model. The report says the regular Xiaomi 17T may come with a 6,500mAh battery and support 67W wired fast charging. Those numbers still need official confirmation, but if they hold, Xiaomi would be making battery endurance one of the lineup’s main selling points rather than treating it as a secondary spec.

For timing, the current expectation is that the new phones could arrive before September. Xiaomi hasn’t announced a launch date yet, and IMDA filings rarely reveal much beyond core registration details, so there’s still a lot we don’t know about the displays, cameras, or memory configurations.

IT Home also pointed back to the previous Xiaomi 15T series, which launched in September last year. Those phones used 6.83-inch AMOLED panels with 120Hz and 144Hz refresh rates depending on the model, paired with flagship-oriented MediaTek chips and Leica-branded imaging features. That earlier positioning gives some context for the new rumors: if Xiaomi keeps the same product strategy, the Xiaomi 17T series is likely being prepared as a high-performance global lineup with a stronger battery story and newer silicon.
