A new leak out of China suggests that an upcoming Redmi phone could push battery capacity to an unusually high level. According to Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, a next-generation sub-brand model is being tested with a 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging, and a 200-megapixel camera setup.

The post didn’t name the device directly, but the wording and follow-up discussion led many readers to connect it to Xiaomi’s Redmi lineup. In the comment section, one user asked whether a 15,000mAh version had entered trial production, and the tipster replied that it had not. Instead, he said the largest battery capacity currently in mass production and waiting to ship is around 12,000mAh.

Another exchange focused on rising component costs. After a commenter said memory prices have become so expensive that brands may have no choice but to compete harder on battery life, the tipster answered that cloud storage might end up being bundled in response. That lines up with the broader industry pressure caused by higher memory pricing.

As a point of reference, IT Home notes that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ launched last August with a fourth-generation Snapdragon 7s chip and a marketing focus on durability, water resistance, and long battery life. The phone came in Midnight Black, Smoky Purple, Cedar White, and Sky Blue, used a 6.83-inch 1.5K display, and started at 1,999 yuan.

IT Home also points to an earlier rumor from another source claiming that Xiaomi may simplify naming across some sub-brand models, potentially moving from Note 15 Pro+ to Note 17 Pro Max. That part still isn’t confirmed, but the main takeaway is clear: Xiaomi’s Redmi phone testing appears to be centered on extreme battery size, faster charging, and a higher-end camera push.
