vivo’s legal department said today that the company has seen repeated malicious infringement and rumor-related attacks aimed at the vivo brand and its products in recent years. According to the statement, those actions have harmed the company’s reputation and legitimate rights while also negatively affecting the online environment and market order.
The company said it has already taken multiple legal steps and has made what it described as phased progress.
In the statement, vivo said that in 2025 some people intentionally fabricated false information related to its products. The company said it reported the matter to police right away, and public security authorities have opened a formal investigation. It added that the individuals involved have already been placed under criminal detention.
vivo also said it has completed evidence preservation work and filed civil lawsuits against several self-media accounts that allegedly spent a long time publishing false information about its products and using that content for malicious traffic diversion.
For other online accounts that published or spread inaccurate information, vivo said it has submitted complaints and reports to relevant platforms and regulatory authorities. According to the company, some violating accounts have already been handled by the platforms under their rules.
The statement also said vivo respects and protects the legitimate rights of users and welcomes fact-based supervision and feedback. At the same time, the company said it maintains zero tolerance toward anyone who deliberately fabricates and spreads false information, damages commercial reputation, or disrupts market order, and that it will continue to pursue legal responsibility where appropriate.
vivo ended by urging internet users not to believe or spread rumors and to help maintain a cleaner online environment and a healthier market order.
