Bigme Launches Dual-Screen Phone With Color or Monochrome E Ink and Dimensity 1080

Bigme has officially opened preorders for its new dual-screen phone lineup, offering buyers a choice between a color E Ink model or a black-and-white E Ink model, both paired with a rear LCD display. The company has now shared the full hardware details, with pricing starting at $359 during the earliest preorder window.

Here’s how the launch pricing is structured:

  • Super early-bird pricing for the first 120 buyers starts at $359.
  • Early-bird pricing for buyers 121 through 320 starts at $389.
  • VIP pricing for buyers 321 through 820 starts at $409.

The Bigme dual-screen phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 octa-core chip and ships with an open Android 14 system. It supports global 5G connectivity, dual SIM standby, NFC, infrared remote control, a compass, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, fingerprint unlocking, and 18W fast charging. Bigme also says the device supports optional accessories including a protective case and a mini stylus.

There are two core versions in the lineup: one combines a monochrome E Ink screen with the secondary LCD, while the other uses a color E Ink panel with that same rear display setup. The E Ink panel comes in at 824 × 1648 resolution, while the LCD screen is listed at 360 × 360. Bigme says the E Ink display supports refresh rates up to 53 frames per second, while also keeping the usual paper-like benefits such as low blue light and better comfort for long reading sessions.

As for memory and storage, the phone is available in 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations. The design uses an E Ink screen on the front and a circular LCD screen on the back. According to the company, that secondary display can handle incoming call and text notifications, short-video viewing, selfies, pet photography, AI-generated pet animations, and even pet interaction features.

Overall, the new Bigme dual-screen phone is aimed at buyers who want something very different from a typical smartphone, especially those interested in E Ink reading comfort without giving up everyday Android features.
