Xiaomi says it will keep a promotional offer in place a little longer for buyers interested in the REDMI K90 Max. After the phone posted what the company described as a record-setting debut, Xiaomi president Lu Weibing said the extra subsidy on the 12GB version will now remain available through May 5.
According to the announcement, Xiaomi had already been offering an official 300 yuan memory subsidy during the launch period. Lu said the company will try to keep that support going, and that it also worked with several e-commerce platforms to continue an additional 200 yuan discount specifically for the 12GB variant.
That means the promotion is being framed as a direct response to early buyer interest rather than a brand-new pricing plan. Xiaomi had previously said the REDMI K90 Max became a sales champion within four hours of launch, setting what it called a new first-sale record over the past year in the 3,000 to 4,000 yuan segment across all channels.
IT Home notes that the phone starts at 3,499 yuan, with launch pricing beginning at 2,999 yuan before national subsidy adjustments. The lineup includes several memory and storage combinations, ranging from a 12GB + 256GB model to a 16GB + 1TB version.
For shoppers comparing current smartphone discounts, the extension matters because it gives buyers a bit more time to lock in the lower price without needing to decide on day one. It also shows how aggressively Xiaomi is leaning into value messaging around the K90 Max right after launch.
