OnePlus has started teasing the OnePlus Ace 6 Supreme Edition ahead of its April 28 launch, and one of the more unusual talking points is a gyroscope the brand says is built to the same standard as the sensor used in game controllers. The company is pitching it as a hardware upgrade aimed squarely at players who rely on motion input in competitive shooters.
In OnePlus’s own marketing language, the phone can handle aggressive movement without losing its point of reference, then quickly return to a stable position. The company also says the setup is accurate enough to help with recoil control in games, which is clearly meant to appeal to players who use gyroscope controls instead of depending only on on-screen aiming.
The teaser also highlights an upgraded in-house touch chip. According to the announcement, the phone supports up to 4000Hz instant touch sampling and 480Hz ten-finger touch sampling, figures that suggest OnePlus is trying to reduce input delay and improve responsiveness in fast-paced mobile gaming scenarios.
Earlier details cited by IT Home say the device uses a flat metal camera-deco design, a thermally isolated middle frame, and oversized rounded corners. The phone is also expected to ship with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor, a 165Hz display, and an 8600mAh battery.
On paper, that combination points to a phone being positioned less as a general mainstream model and more as a performance-first gaming handset. The real test, of course, will be whether the gyroscope tuning and touch behavior actually feel better in everyday play rather than just sounding good in launch material.
