Sony plans to discontinue Xperia Music Pro on October 27 2026, according to a report citing the company’s newly published shutdown schedule.
Music Pro was designed for Sony’s higher-end phone users and focused on mobile music recording. The app offered tools like noise reduction, reverb removal, and studio-style tuning, making it one of the more distinctive software extras in the Sony Xperia ecosystem.
Sony says the service will be phased out in three steps. New purchases and subscription renewals will stop on July 27, 2026. Paid services will end on August 26, 2026. Then on October 27, 2026, the app’s services will shut down completely.
For existing users, the biggest issue is data access. Sony is warning people to export any video or audio project files before the final deadline, since those materials may no longer be accessible afterward.
The company hasn’t given a detailed explanation for the decision and only said the change is happening due to various circumstances. Outside observers believe the move could be tied to maintenance costs, product focus, subscription performance, or the app’s user base.
