A new rumor suggests OPPO is working on a phone with a 10,000mAh battery, and the first device to use it may land in the brand’s mid-range phones lineup rather than in a flagship model.
The claim comes from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, who said that OPPO already has a 10,000mAh-class battery device in development. The same post also suggested that several major Chinese smartphone brands are actively testing batteries in this capacity range.

The source further hinted that battery sizes on higher-end models may keep climbing as well. In response to questions from followers, the tipster suggested that compact flagships could move into the 7,000mAh range, while larger-screen models could start with battery capacities in the 8,000mAh range.
As for even bigger jumps, the report says a move toward 15,000mAh phone batteries would likely depend on breakthroughs in new battery material systems. So for now, the more realistic next step appears to be a wave of 10,000mAh-class smartphones.
The broader context makes the rumor easier to believe. Recent products from other brands have already pushed battery capacity much higher than what used to be standard, including devices such as Honor models with ultra-large batteries and the newly launched vivo Y600 Pro with a 10,200mAh unit. Separate leaks have also pointed to Xiaomi and Huawei testing larger battery solutions for upcoming phones.
