OPPO has started taking reservations for the OPPO Reno 16 series and says the new lineup will make its official debut in May. The reservation page confirms that the family will include two models: the standard OPPO Reno 16 and the OPPO Reno 16 Pro.
The announcement itself is brief, but it lines up with earlier leaks that sketched out what the Pro version may bring. According to information previously shared by Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, an alleged Reno 16 Pro test unit was being prepared in white, black, purple, and green color options.

That same leak claimed the phone could use a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display with notably slim bezels on all four sides. The rumored chip was MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ platform, with additional talk of a roughly 7,000mAh-class battery, a 200MP large-sensor camera setup, a periscope telephoto camera, and a metal frame.
The leaked memory and storage combinations for the suspected Reno 16 Pro included 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB. OPPO hasn’t formally confirmed those configurations yet, so they should still be treated as pre-release information rather than final retail specs.

For context, the previous Reno 15 series launched in November 2025 starting at 2,999 yuan. The regular Reno 15 used a Dimensity 8450 chip and was offered in five trims ranging from 12GB + 256GB to 16GB + 1TB. The Reno 15 Pro also used the Dimensity 8450 and started at 3,699 yuan, topping out at 16GB + 1TB for 4,799 yuan.
So at this stage, the clearest takeaway is simple: OPPO Reno 16 series reservations are live, a May launch is locked in, and the Pro model is already surrounded by heavyweight hardware rumors. We’ll have to wait for OPPO’s full event to see which of those details make it to the final shipping phones.
