Samsung has now detailed its upcoming One UI 9.0 beta rollout, giving a clearer picture of how the Android 17-based update will begin reaching users. According to a report cited by SamMobile, the company has formally introduced One UI 9.0 as its next major software release, bringing a redesigned interface, new features, and a broader round of usability improvements.
The beta phase is expected to start soon, with Samsung again following the regional pattern it has used in earlier test programs. The first wave is said to cover devices in South Korea, Germany, India, Poland, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Based on Samsung’s usual rollout habits, Korea is likely to open first before the program gradually expands to the rest of the supported markets.
As for devices, the initial beta list is expected to focus on the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. That means Samsung is once again using its newest flagship line as the front edge of software testing. The report also notes that the beta should later spread to more product families over the coming weeks or months, including additional S series phones, foldables in the Z Fold and Z Flip lines, and eventually some A series devices as well.
The version itself is built on Android 17, so part of the update will naturally come from Google’s platform-level changes. On Samsung’s side, One UI 9.0 is also said to add a refreshed Samsung Notes experience, a new quick control panel, and expanded accessibility features. Those additions suggest the update is not just a visual refresh, but part of a larger effort to refine productivity and everyday system navigation.
For Samsung users, the beta plan matters because it usually signals how quickly the stable rollout may follow. Once the first markets and first flagship devices enter testing, the rest of the release calendar becomes easier to estimate, especially for users waiting to see whether Samsung’s newest design changes will remain limited to the S26 family at first or move quickly to older premium phones.
The bigger takeaway is that Samsung appears ready to move early with its Android 17 skin again. If the company can keep the beta program stable across those first regions, One UI 9.0 could end up following the same broad expansion pattern as recent major Galaxy software releases, beginning with the S26 lineup and then stepping outward across foldables and other mainstream models.
