vivo has shared new design details for the upcoming vivo S60 series, which is scheduled to launch on May 29 at 7:30 p.m. in China. The company says the lineup will arrive in three finishes: Starry Sea, Early Summer Green, and Midsummer Night.
The headline look is Starry Sea, which vivo says uses a new starlight-style lithography process to create a shimmering surface effect. The idea is to make the back panel feel like light moving across the sea in summer, giving the phone a more expressive visual identity than a standard flat-color finish. That emphasis on materials and texture is clearly central to the current vivo S60 colors campaign.
vivo also says the series uses a large integrated cold-carved glass panel, suggesting the design pitch is not only about color but also about a more refined, premium-feeling body. Even in teaser form, the phones are being framed as style-led devices rather than purely spec-driven releases.
Earlier reports cited by IT Home add some likely hardware context. The smartphone design package is expected to include an upgraded 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor 2.0 with claimed recognition times as low as 0.1 seconds and enrollment in around 1 second. The entire S60 series is also said to ship with a 7200mAh ultra-thin Blue Ocean battery, 90W charging, and full direct-drive power supply support.
Other expected features include IP68 and IP69 protection, stereo speakers, an infrared remote, and an X-axis linear motor. If those details hold, vivo appears to be combining lifestyle-focused styling with hardware choices that still check the practical boxes buyers care about.
At this stage, vivo has not yet shared full pricing or complete model-by-model specifications. Still, the early reveal makes the direction pretty clear: the S60 series is being positioned around bold seasonal styling, battery confidence, and a polished everyday-use experience.
