A new rumor says Samsung is preparing a wider-format foldable called the Galaxy WideFold, with an initial production batch of around one million units and a release window roughly three months from now.
The leak, shared by tipster i Ice Universe, also says the phone should weigh no more than 220 grams and use a dual-camera setup.
Earlier reporting, citing Android Authority, suggested Samsung may market this model as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide. The inner-screen ratio is said to be around 1.3:1, which is close to 4:3. By comparison, the current Galaxy Z Fold8 is reportedly near 1.11:1 and has a squarer profile.
In terms of form factor, the device is expected to follow a wider-body approach similar to Google’s Pixel Fold concept, aiming for a more familiar in-hand feel and a roomier reading experience on the outer screen.
Hardware expectations currently mirror Samsung’s flagship foldable tier: a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip, up to 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, a 5000mAh battery, and support for 45W wired plus 25W wireless charging. As always with pre-launch coverage, these details should be treated as provisional until Samsung confirms final specifications.
