Honor has officially started rolling out the MagicOS 10.0.0.160 update to the Honor Magic8 series smartphones. The update package is quite substantial, weighing in at approximately 11.11GB. It brings several new AI features, including YOYO AI creation tools, an advanced AI screen privacy guard, virtual permission management, and various performance improvements.
One of the highlight features of the MagicOS 10.0.0.160 update is the new AI toolset. The YOYO AI Creator offers users creative ways to generate and refine images. With the dedicated AI Key, users can quickly access AI creation or image editing options. The key’s shortcut behaviors can be customized for short presses, double clicks, or long presses, letting you trigger features like Screen Memo, Photo Memo, or Voice Memo.
Privacy is another major focus in this release. The newly introduced AI screen privacy guard automatically detects when someone else is peeking at your phone screen and triggers a protective cover to obscure sensitive details. Users can customize the look of the block and choose which apps it applies to. Additionally, the Virtual Permissions feature can supply apps with blank data instead of your actual call logs, contacts, and calendar schedules when they request them, giving you peace of mind.

The update also refines the visual and user experience of the Honor Magic8 series. The dynamic capsule display (Magic Capsule) now has smoother gradient transitions and translucent effects, and media controls get a spinning album art animation when switching songs. Under-the-hood performance optimizations improve battery life, app stability, and camera color accuracy. The update also integrates the May 2026 Android security patch.
As a quick refresher, the flagship Honor Magic8 Pro was released late last year, sporting the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 5) chipset, a 50MP triple-camera setup, and a massive 7,200mAh Qinghai Lake battery. It was followed in January by the Magic8 Pro Air and the Magic8 RSR Porsche Design editions.
