A new hands-on video from the YouTube channel Max Tech gives one of the clearest early looks yet at Apple’s rumored iPhone Ultra, a device many watchers expect could become the company’s first Apple foldable phone. The same video also shows metal dummy units for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, but the foldable model is the one drawing the most attention.

According to the video, the folded dummy unit measures about 11mm at its thinnest point. Once opened, that drops to roughly 5.5mm, which would make the device feel much slimmer in tablet mode. The overall form factor is described as being somewhat like a downsized iPad mini, and side-by-side comparisons in the video help show where this rumored foldable iPhone could sit between a traditional phone and Apple’s smaller tablet line.

Based on the dimensions discussed in the report, the device appears to have a relatively compact but squared-off shape when unfolded, with a height of about 111.5mm. The internal display is said to measure around 7.76 inches, which would place it in an interesting middle ground: larger than a standard smartphone screen, but still more pocketable than a small tablet.
The hardware claims attached to the leak are also notable. IT Home says the phone is expected to use Apple’s rumored A20 Pro chip built on a 2nm process, alongside 12GB of memory. As with any pre-release hardware leak, none of that is final yet, but it does line up with the idea that Apple would position an iPhone Ultra foldable as a premium, high-performance flagship rather than a niche experiment.
One of the biggest questions around any foldable device is the crease, and this report touches on that too. The rumor says Apple may use a liquid-metal hinge design to reduce how visible the display crease is in daily use. If that approach makes it into the shipping product, it could become one of the main selling points for Apple’s entry into the Apple foldable phone category.
For now, this is still a look at a dummy model rather than a finished retail device, so the final size, thickness, and hardware specs could still change. Even so, the video offers a useful preview of how Apple may be thinking about the shape and positioning of its long-rumored foldable iPhone.
