Lenovo has started previewing the next-generation Lenovo Legion Y70 ahead of its May 19 launch event, and a new leak from blogger Panda Is Bald gives a clearer look at the phone’s core hardware. Based on that leak, the device is expected to pair a large battery with a flagship Qualcomm chip and a flat high-refresh display aimed squarely at performance-focused users.
The leaked spec list points to a 6.8-inch 2K 144Hz flat screen, a massive 8000mAh battery, 90W fast charging, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The phone is also said to come in black and silver color options. If those details hold up, Lenovo is positioning this model as a gaming phone that still keeps the formula pretty straightforward: strong thermals, fast charging, and a lot of battery headroom.

Lenovo’s earlier official teasers already outlined some of the design direction. The company says the handset follows the Legion family look, with a fine-textured glass back, an aviation-grade aluminum frame, and an ergonomic gaming grip. It also mentions a camera module layout designed not to dig into the hand during landscape play, which fits the broader pitch of a phone built for longer gaming sessions.
Display and cooling are clearly part of the story too. Lenovo says the phone uses a 2K esports display and claims its power draw is lower than some competing 1.5K panels. The company also highlights what it calls an industry-first cooling setup that combines gel, liquid metal, and a vapor chamber, with the goal of improving heat dissipation under sustained load. On paper, that gives the upcoming Lenovo Legion Y70 a fairly aggressive hardware profile without drifting away from the core gaming-phone formula.

The new phone is expected to appear at Lenovo China’s May 19 product event themed around Tianxi AI and multi-device integration. Lenovo is also likely to introduce several other products there, including a moto razr foldable, a YOGA Air 14 Ultra laptop, the Lenovo AI tablet Legion Y900, and the Legion Y7000X notebook. For now, though, the leaked combination of Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and an 8000mAh battery is what makes this Legion Y70 successor stand out most.
