Motorola Unveils Edge 70 Pro+ With Dimensity 8500 Extreme and Massive Silicon-Carbon Battery

Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ has been prematurely listed on official Indian website, revealing a highly competitive set of specifications that positions this device as a premium midrange contender. Leading the charge is MediaTek brand-new Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, paired with an expansive 6.8-inch display and robust hardware designed to satisfy power-hungry users.

The screen is a particular highlight: a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel featuring a 2772×1272 resolution, a high-refresh rate of 144Hz, and an impressive 96.8% screen-to-body ratio. With support for HDR10+ and a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, the screen is engineered to hit an astronomical peak brightness of 5,200 nits under specialized conditions, and 1,800 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM).

Under the hood, the Dimensity 8500 Extreme chip is supported by 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of fast UFS 4.1 storage. The device comes preloaded with Android 16, and Motorola commits to providing three major OS upgrades alongside five years of security updates. On the software front, the Edge 70 Pro+ introduces a Catch Me Up tool that uses AI to aggregate unread messages from multiple apps and flag items that require subsequent attention.

Battery capacity is another standout detail: a massive 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery that fits into a remarkably slim chassis measuring just 7.34mm thick and weighing 190 grams. Fast-charging support includes 90W TurboPower wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless capability, giving users exceptional flexibility on the go.

For photography, the device is equipped with a high-end triple-camera array on the back: a 50-megapixel LYTIA 710 primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel autofocus ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor capable of 3.5x optical zoom. On the front, selfie duties are handled by another high-resolution 50-megapixel camera.

Built to handle harsh conditions, the phone boasts dual IP68 and IP69 dust-and-water resistance ratings and has passed MIL-STD 810H military durability certification. Rounding out the specs are dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio support. The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ will be offered in three distinctive Pantone colors: Zinfandel, Chicory Coffee, and Stormy Sea.
