A new leak says Nokia is preparing the Nokia Mission-Safe 2, a rugged handset aimed at industrial users, and the early renders suggest a much cleaner look than the first model.
The phone is said to keep the same general frame and rear design language as the original Mission-Safe device. That first-generation model was itself based on HMD Global’s Ivalo XE, so the new version is also expected to come from the same broader hardware lineage.
The biggest visual change appears on the front. According to the leak, the rugged smartphone moves from a waterdrop-style screen to a 6.58-inch FHD+ 120Hz punch-hole display, which gives it a more modern look even though the lower bezel is still fairly large.
The front setup is said to include a 50MP camera along with a ToF sensor. On the back, the device reportedly uses dual 50MP sensors and also adds LiDAR, which would fit the phone’s industrial positioning.
Inside, the leak points to Qualcomm’s QCM6690 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone is also said to run Android 17.
Other reported features include IP68 and IP69K protection, MIL-STD-810H durability certification, Pogo Pin expansion contacts, and NFC support. Taken together, the leak paints the Nokia Mission-Safe 2 as a more polished follow-up that keeps the original model’s field-focused identity while improving the hardware presentation.
