OPPO Reno 16 series is shaping up as a fairly ambitious mid-to-upper-range refresh, at least based on the latest leak out of China. A post from tipster Digital Chat Station points to two models — the standard Reno 16 and the Reno 16 Pro — with both phones leaning hard into bigger batteries, large camera sensors, and a more premium-looking build.

The leak says the Reno 16 Pro could use a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED flat display and a Dimensity 9500s chip. It’s also tipped to pair that with a 7,000mAh battery, 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, a metal frame, and a rear camera setup built around a 200MP HP5 main sensor. The rest of that camera system is said to include a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.

The regular OPPO Reno 16 is described as the more compact option. According to the same leak, it may feature a 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED flat display, a Dimensity 8550 chip, a 6,700mAh battery, 80W wired charging, and a camera stack that still includes the 200MP HP5 main sensor plus 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope telephoto cameras. Like the Pro, it’s also said to use a metal mid-frame.

One of the more unusual details in this report is an optional smart secondary display accessory. The accessory is said to support custom wallpapers and remote photography functions, which could give the Reno 16 lineup a more distinct identity if it actually ships that way.

There were also follow-up hints in the comment thread around the original leak. When asked whether the Pro’s imaging package matches OPPO’s more expensive flagship-grade hardware, the tipster suggested the imaging add-ons are in the same general lane, though not identical. Another reply claimed the model now called the Pro was once expected to move upmarket and possibly use a Pro Max name, but that idea was dropped in favor of keeping Reno naming more consistent.

Earlier reporting from IT Home said the OPPO Reno 16 series is expected to debut in May, with the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro making up the lineup. As always with pre-launch leaks, the exact camera tuning, battery figures, and accessory plans could still change before the official announcement.
