Google has started rolling out the Pixel May 2026 update to a wide range of devices, including smartphones from the Pixel 7a through the Pixel 10 family as well as the Pixel Tablet. The release carries build number CP1A.260505.005 and focuses on a mix of charging, camera, display, and input fixes.

One of the biggest user-facing changes addresses a wireless charging issue that could slow charging speeds when the battery sat in the 75% to 80% range. For people who routinely leave a Pixel on a charging pad overnight or top it up before heading out, that bug could stretch out charging times more than expected. This update is meant to clear up that behavior.
Google also included a targeted camera fix for the Pixel 10 series. According to the release notes summarized by the source report, some devices could freeze the camera app after users adjusted focus while recording video. The new build is supposed to resolve that issue.
On the display side, the patch specifically addresses problems reported on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. Those bugs included persistent white flickering dots or visual noise near the top of the screen, along with occasional blur, freezing, or noisy lines appearing during use.
Input reliability is part of the update as well. Google says it fixed cases where the keyboard or input interface could freeze or shift out of position inside certain apps, which obviously gets in the way of normal typing and day-to-day use.
There’s one important warning attached to this rollout: it includes a bootloader update, which means Pixel 10 devices that install it won’t be able to roll back to an earlier Android 16 rollback path afterward. Anyone who depends on rooting, custom flashing, or other low-level modifications should back up first and double-check compatibility before updating.
The supported device list in the report includes Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10a.
