Xiaomi has rolled out the POCO M8s 5G in overseas markets, with the phone built around a large display and an extra-big battery. The model is aimed at users who want a budget device with long battery life and a more expansive screen experience.

Under the hood, the handset runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 platform. It can be configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, while also supporting microSD expansion. Xiaomi also says memory expansion can push the available RAM figure up to 16GB through virtual allocation.

Battery capacity is one of the main selling points. The POCO M8s 5G packs a 7000mAh battery, supports 33W wired fast charging, and also offers 18W wired reverse charging.
For cameras, the phone includes a 50MP f/1.8 main rear camera, though Xiaomi hasn’t detailed the secondary rear sensor. Video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera with the same video specification.
The display measures 6.9 inches and uses an LCD panel with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Other hardware features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM support, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, infrared remote control support, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Software-wise, the phone ships with HyperOS 2 based on Android 15. Pricing starts at $189 for the 6GB + 128GB model, while the 8GB + 256GB version is listed at $229.
