A new leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station claims that a sub-brand flagship is being tested with a battery around the 10000mAh battery mark. Commenters on the original post are already pointing to Xiaomi’s expected REDMI K100 series as the likely candidate.
The claim matters because it would push battery capacity far beyond what most mainstream smartphones offer today. Even large Android phones commonly sit around the 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh range, while some gaming and endurance-focused models go higher. A move toward 10,000mAh would make battery life the headline feature.
Earlier this month, the same source shared another batch of rumored specifications for an unnamed device that many users also connected with the REDMI K100 line. That previous leak mentioned a battery larger than 8,000mAh, which is already unusually big for a flagship-style phone.
The new 10,000mAh figure is therefore a notable jump. It is not clear whether it refers to the same model, a separate variant, or an engineering sample being tested before final hardware decisions are made.
The earlier specification list included a 185Hz ultra-high-refresh flat display, an ultra-clear screen, a dual-chip platform built around Snapdragon 8E5, a battery above 8,000mAh, and 50W wireless charging.
Other rumored features included symmetrical dual speakers, a 200-megapixel large-sensor camera, telephoto macro support, high-grade water resistance, a glass back, and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. If accurate, the package would position the phone as a performance-and-endurance flagship rather than a simple budget model.
The display rumor is also aggressive. A 185Hz screen would go beyond the 120Hz panels that are now common on premium phones and even above many 144Hz gaming-oriented models. Whether that kind of refresh rate would be available widely across the system or mainly in supported games remains an open question.
The 10000mAh battery rumor should still be treated carefully. Leaks around early hardware tests often describe prototypes, and final retail products can change before launch. Battery capacity, device thickness, weight, thermals, and charging design all have to be balanced before a phone ships.
For context, the current REDMI K90 Pro Max reportedly started at 3,999 yuan before rising to 4,199 yuan, while the REDMI K90 Max started at 2,999 yuan and the standard REDMI K90 started at 2,599 yuan. That gives a rough idea of where Xiaomi has positioned the series in China.
If the REDMI K100 series really moves toward a 10,000mAh-class battery while keeping flagship display, camera, and charging features, it could become one of the more distinctive Android launches in its segment. For now, though, the key word is still “testing.”
