Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Weight, Battery Capacity and 45W Fast Charging Leaked

Following a flurry of leaks surrounding Samsung’s next-generation foldables, new hardware details have surfaced online regarding the naming and power specifications of the upcoming devices.

Industry insider Ice Universe has revealed that the wider, tablet-style design will be officially marketed as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the narrower, more traditional aspect ratio model will be rebranded as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

According to the leak, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 weighs 201 grams and houses a 4800mAh battery with support for up to 45W fast charging.

In terms of camera hardware, the device is tipped to adopt a new 50MP primary sensor that natively supports a 24-megapixel capture mode, eliminating the need to install Samsung’s Good Lock Camera Assistant module to enable this feature.

Meanwhile, the premium Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra maintains a weight of 215 grams—identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 7—but sees its battery capacity upgraded from 4400mAh to a larger 5000mAh cell. The wired charging speed on the Ultra model is also set to increase from 25W to 45W, and its unfolded thickness will be reduced from 4.2mm to just 4.1mm.

Samsung is expected to officially introduce the new foldables at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which is rumored to take place in London on July 22, 2026.
