Rumor suggests vivo could bring back a Pro mini-style flagship with a 2nm chip and upgraded cameras

A fresh leak out of China suggests vivo may be preparing a new Pro mini-style phone for a future flagship cycle, potentially bringing the compact premium positioning back with a next-generation 2nm chip, a new large-sensor main camera, and an upgraded periscope setup.

Rumor suggests vivo could bring back a Pro mini-style flagship with a 2nm chip and upgraded cameras

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the unnamed device is being described as a next-generation flagship with a Pro mini-like market position. The leaked hardware outline points to a 2nm chip, a 50MP LOFIC large-sensor main camera, and a new periscope telephoto camera. Based on the source’s past posting patterns, IT Home says the device is expected to belong to vivo’s lineup.

The report also revisits the company’s earlier compact flagship strategy. IT Home notes that the vivo X200 Pro mini launched in October 2024 with four color options, a 6.31-inch flat display, a 5,700mAh battery, 90W wired charging, 30W wireless charging, a Dimensity 9400 chip, and a main camera built around the BlueImage x Sony LYT-818 sensor. That model also carried IP68 and IP69 water resistance and started at 4,699 yuan.

vivo did not release a Pro mini-branded model in the X300 generation, though executive Han Boxiao previously said the standard X300 should be treated as the direct successor to the X200 Pro mini. His point was that even without the suffix, the phone still kept the Pro-level performance and other core traits that defined the earlier device.

Even so, this latest rumor hints that vivo may be ready to bring the smaller premium concept back more explicitly. If the leak proves accurate, the company could once again use the Pro mini identity for a compact vivo flagship that still leans hard into top-tier silicon and camera hardware.
