A newly spotted Xiaomi foldable has reportedly appeared in internal code, adding fresh fuel to speculation about the company’s next large-screen folding phone. The device is said to carry the model number 2608BPX34C and could eventually launch as a MIX Fold 5 follow-up, though another final name is still possible.
According to a report cited by overseas outlet ximitime, the handset uses the codename “lhasa.” The same code references an Xring O3 chip, which suggests Xiaomi may be preparing a new-generation in-house silicon branding step rather than following a more expected O2 naming path.
The leak doesn’t confirm commercial branding or full hardware details yet, so it’s best treated as an early software-side clue instead of a final product reveal. Even so, the appearance of the device in code is notable because it lines up with broader chatter around Xiaomi’s foldable roadmap.
Earlier supply-chain talk also suggested that a foldable from one major brand was tentatively scheduled for July, with broad domestic sourcing across parts and camera modules. Commentators widely linked that claim to Xiaomi. If that reading is correct, this newly surfaced device may be one of the clearest signs yet that Xiaomi’s next premium foldable is moving closer to launch.
