A fresh leak claims that Xiaomi HyperOS 4 may be introduced in July or August, with beta testing expected to begin ahead of the official rollout. According to the tipster cited in the report, Xiaomi 17 series phones and the Redmi K90 lineup are likely to be among the first devices in line for testing.

The same leak suggests that phones launching around that period may still ship with HyperOS 3 preinstalled. As for the first stable commercial release of Xiaomi HyperOS 4, the report says it could be saved for a major flagship device tied either to Xiaomi’s so-called “grand convergence” strategy or to the upcoming Xiaomi 18 series.

That “grand convergence” description refers to a future Xiaomi product expected to combine an in-house chip, an in-house operating system, and an in-house large AI model in one device. The same framing has appeared before in comments connected to Xiaomi’s long-term product plans.

The report also points back to remarks made earlier this year by Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun, who said the company expected to bring together self-developed silicon, its own OS, and its own AI foundation model on a terminal device in 2026.

Lei Jun also noted at the time that around two-thirds of Xiaomi’s 2025 annual technology award-winning projects had already incorporated AI, with applications spanning materials and structural engineering, chips and operating systems, smart driving, and connected home technology.

For now, this is still leak-based information rather than an official launch schedule. Even so, the rumor gives a clearer picture of how Xiaomi could position Xiaomi HyperOS 4 across its next wave of flagship phones and software updates.
