Xiaomi says its HyperOS developer preview built on Android 17 Beta 2 is now available, giving developers an early chance to test the new software before a wider rollout.
Based on details posted in the Xiaomi community, this preview currently supports the Xiaomi 17 series, including the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition.
Xiaomi also notes that the beta package depends on specific base firmware versions because of Android security patch compatibility. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition can only upgrade from OS3.0.303.0.WPACNXM, while the Xiaomi 17 requires OS3.0.306.0.WPCCNXM.
The company is very clear that this release is a developer preview rather than a stable public build. In other words, stability isn’t guaranteed, and Xiaomi doesn’t recommend using it as a daily driver or installing it on a primary phone.
For anyone planning to try it, the safest approach is to back up important data first, understand the flashing process in advance, and treat this build as test software meant for development work rather than regular everyday use.
