A new leak suggests that Xiaomi may be preparing a very high-end large foldable phone with a new-generation chipset, a 200MP camera setup, and a much larger battery than many current foldables.
The information comes from Chinese tech blogger Digital Chat Station, who shared partial specifications for an engineering prototype of a wide-format foldable device. The leak describes the phone as an “ultra-high-end” model in the 10,000-yuan price range, and the device is expected to be a new Xiaomi product.
According to the leak, the screen size remains around 7.5 to 7.6 inches, which would place it in the book-style foldable category rather than the smaller flip-phone segment. The prototype is also said to use a crease-reduction design, aiming for a more subtle fold line across the main display.
The phone reportedly uses a simple racetrack-style camera deco, carries a 200MP camera, and includes a battery rated around 6000mAh. For a foldable device, that battery figure would be notable, since large-screen foldables often have to balance battery capacity against thickness and weight.

The leak also mentions wireless charging, high-level water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a new-generation SoC, and productivity accessories. Those details suggest Xiaomi may be positioning the device not only as a premium phone, but also as a mobile productivity tool for users who want a tablet-like inner screen.
Earlier reporting from ximitime in April said a mysterious Xiaomi foldable with the model identifier “2608BPX34C” had appeared in a code database. That device could arrive as the Xiaomi MIX Fold 5, though there has also been speculation that it might be called the Xiaomi 17 Fold.
The same code references reportedly showed the codename “lhasa” and pointed to Xiaomi’s Xring O3 chip. If accurate, that would suggest Xiaomi could skip the “Xring O2” naming step and move directly to a newer-generation chip brand for this foldable.
For context, Xiaomi’s current MIX Fold 4 launched in July 2024 with a starting price of 8,999 yuan. That model used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform, a 7.98-inch inner display, a 6.56-inch cover screen, Leica Summilux quad rear cameras, and a 5100mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery.
If the new leak is close to final hardware, the next Xiaomi foldable phone could bring meaningful upgrades in battery capacity, imaging, and chipset strategy. The biggest open question is whether Xiaomi can deliver those improvements while keeping the device thin, durable, and comfortable enough for everyday use.
