A new leak suggests that Xiaomi HyperOS 4 could be released as early as June, although the final branding still may change before Xiaomi makes anything official.
The report comes from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, who said that a certain manufacturer’s next-generation system is tentatively scheduled for a June debut. Based on the hints used in the comment section and the surrounding discussion, Chinese tech watchers believe the company in question is Xiaomi and the software is likely Xiaomi HyperOS 4.
Even so, the source did not directly name the version number. That matters, because Xiaomi has changed software naming plans before. IT Home pointed out one earlier example involving the Redmi K60 Ultra, which had originally been expected to receive MIUI 15 first but ultimately shifted onto the HyperOS path instead.

One of the more interesting details in the discussion is the claimed design direction. When users asked whether the new release would bring major visual changes, the tipster replied that the full lineup is expected to get an entirely new liquid-glass-style interface. That suggests a broader UI refresh rather than a minor maintenance update.
The article also says Xiaomi has been gradually clearing out old code from its software stack. Some modules inside HyperOS 3.1, including apps such as Weather and Gallery, have reportedly already started removing SDK components left over from the MIUI era.
If that transition keeps moving forward, this year’s Xiaomi HyperOS 4 could become Xiaomi’s first true zero-legacy system release, meaning a version with legacy MIUI baggage largely stripped away under the hood. That would make the update notable not just for how it looks, but also for how cleanly Xiaomi is rebuilding its software base.
