Coolpad has quietly listed a new Coolpad flip-camera phone on JD.com, where the device shows a regular price of 1,099 yuan and a launch discount that brings it down to 999 yuan.
The phone stands out right away because of its compact square form factor and rotating 13MP camera module. Instead of using separate front and rear main cameras, Coolpad is leaning on that flip design to keep the body small while still giving users a more flexible camera setup.
Inside, the device runs on MediaTek’s Helio G99 chip and comes with 8GB of RAM plus 128GB of storage. Coolpad is also adding an on-device AI companion, a dedicated AI hardware key, and voice-based controls that it says can handle actions like hailing a ride, shopping, or posting to social apps through one-sentence commands.

Other listed specs include a 3.95-inch 720 x 720 LCD display, a 2,450mAh battery, and 10W charging. The phone also supports infrared remote control and is offered in four color options: purple, pink, black, and white.
Based on the current retail listing, this is clearly positioned as a low-cost niche handset rather than a mainstream flagship. Even so, the mix of a tiny square display, rotating camera, and built-in AI shortcut key gives the model a distinct identity in the entry-level smartphone market.
