The vivo S60 series is now official, with vivo introducing the standard S60 alongside the more affordable S60 Vitality Edition during its latest launch event. Pricing starts at 3,599 yuan for the regular S60, while the Vitality Edition opens at 2,899 yuan.

vivo is clearly pushing design as a major selling point here. The phones measure 7.92mm thick, weigh as little as 199 grams, and come in color options including Starry Sea, Early Summer Green, and Midsummer Night. The company put extra focus on the Starry Sea finish, saying it uses a custom photolithography process, layered coating, and precision etching to create a glittering texture with a more premium visual effect.

On the front, the lineup uses a 6.59-inch 1260p 144Hz flat display and a 50MP front camera. The imaging hardware differs between models: the standard S60 gets a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP IMX882 3x periscope telephoto lens, while the Vitality Edition trims that down to a 50MP main camera plus an 8MP ultra-wide setup.

The new camera experience is built heavily around 4K Live photos. vivo says the phones use the device’s video capture capability to produce sharper and smoother Live images, then layers on features like portrait-style filters, a visual color-tuning palette, starlight highlight effects, and collage-style Live image recomposition. The company is also adding a one-tap 3D spatial effect generated from a Live cover frame, creating a glasses-free 3D look when the phone is tilted.

vivo also said it worked closely with Xiaohongshu, making the S60 the only phone in the industry that currently supports posting 3D spatial images directly to the platform. That may matter more in China than overseas, but it shows where vivo thinks mobile imaging trends are heading.

As for core hardware, the standard S60 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, while the Vitality Edition uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500. Both models include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanning, IP68 and IP69 protection, stereo speakers, infrared remote control, and an X-axis linear motor.

The standout spec for everyday use may be the 7200mAh battery. vivo says both versions carry this ultra-thin Blue Ocean battery and support 90W wired charging, which gives the series a strong battery-life angle in addition to the photography pitch. On the software side, the phones also introduce a new on-screen character widget system and a custom theme tied to brand ambassador Tian Xiwei.
