Apple May Start Its 2026 Back to School Promotion in Mid-June for US and Canada Shoppers

Apple 2026 Back to School preparations appear to be underway, with a new report from MacRumors saying backend code points to an upcoming education promotion for the US and Canadian markets. Apple has not formally announced the campaign yet, but the timing fits its usual summer pattern for student-focused hardware deals.

Every year, Apple typically runs a back-to-school offer that gives eligible students, teachers, and education staff extra value when buying a Mac or iPad through the education store. The exact bonus changes from year to year, but it has often taken the form of a free accessory or a gift card on top of the standard education discount.

At this stage, the 2026 giveaway has not been confirmed. That means buyers do not yet know whether Apple will again offer accessories, gift cards, or some other incentive. Even so, the report suggests shoppers in the US and Canada may want to wait a bit before placing an order if they are already planning to buy a new Mac or iPad for school.

Looking back at recent campaigns helps explain why. In 2025, Apple offered qualifying students and educators accessories worth up to $199, with options that reportedly included AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation, a Magic Mouse, a Magic Trackpad, a Touch ID Magic Keyboard, and the Apple Pencil Pro. Earlier promotions used AirPods or gift cards instead, depending on the year and region.

The historical schedule is also fairly consistent. Apple usually launches the program in June and keeps it live through late September. In several of the last five years, the promotion began roughly eight to ten days after the WWDC keynote. Since WWDC 2026 is set for June 8, the report says a mid-June start, potentially around June 15, would make sense.

Nothing is official until Apple publishes the final terms, but the practical takeaway is straightforward: if a student or teacher is planning a summer Apple purchase, waiting a few more days could be the smarter move. A modest delay may be enough to unlock the same hardware at education pricing plus an extra perk.
