Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 May Use Both Snapdragon and Exynos Chips Depending on Region

Samsung may bring back a familiar regional chipset strategy for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, according to a report from SmartPrix today. The company has long used different processors in different markets for the same phone lineup, and the upcoming foldable could follow that same playbook.

As one recent example, the Galaxy S26 series reportedly uses Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip for the standard and Plus models, while the Ultra model is said to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. That kind of split has been a recurring part of Samsung’s global smartphone strategy.

Leaker Lanzuk now claims the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 will also be sold with two different processor options depending on region. Some markets would get an Exynos-powered model, while others would receive a version based on Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware.

According to the original report, Samsung had initially planned to use the Exynos 2600 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 worldwide. That chip is built on a 2nm process, though, and its production costs are said to be relatively high.

At the same time, rumors suggest Qualcomm offered Samsung a more competitive Snapdragon chip partnership. As a result, the Z Flip8 may end up using a dual-chip approach: Asian versions could ship with an Exynos processor, while models for the Americas could use a Snapdragon chip.

Samsung is expected to hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event in July. If the timing holds, that’s when we should get a clearer answer on the final Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 configuration.
